The RAV4

With an out-of-towner visiting, I need a vehicle with a bit more cargo room, as the wife insists that the dog goes wine tasting with us. So I am renting a Toyota RAV4 from the local dealership.

The RAV4 has come a long way. I've always liked the little original. And note the "Lauda Air" sign at the curb.

And finally, the local dealership allows you to rent almost every Toyota model, including the FR-S!

wow, cool that you can rent an fr-s! i haven't driven one yet, and maybe i'll give it a try.

my wife and i are considering a compact SUV. the mazda cx-5 is at the top of the list, but any/all suggestions welcome.

@maxichamp thanks! my wife, her sister and i test drove/rode both yesterday in burlingame. we all went in with a strong cx-5 bias. but oddly enough the rav4 actually came out on top. we just found it was more refined, and the ride in the cx-5 was harsher than what my wife wanted. i guess there's a reason why toyota sells so many camrys.

here's another wacky comparo that the autoguide guys did on the two cars.
