2014 Anti-Football Run photos

Another New Year, another morning with old cars.

This first photo was taken by Stephan, who captured me riding in rchen's 1981 Honda Accord.

Now, back to the beginning. As I approached Sausalito, the starting point, I saw this strange van in front of me.

I parked next to this rare blue Mondial cabriolet.

The van was a diesel Alfa Romeo! This was my favorite vehicle at the meet/rally.

Miata and 914.

164 and IS-F.

Supra.

A Scirocco with Historical Vehicle plates.

Here is a VIP (Peter S.) in front of not-his Gullwing.

The vacuum hose routing diagram for the Accord.

We followed this Jaguar(?) for a while.

The roads of Marin.

This shot captures the diversity of the cars that participated.

That Austin-Healey stalled out right at the end of a corner.

This Mustang belongs to Randy of Bring A Trailer fame.

How was the Accord received? Cool car!

@mtc: Very well. Not many Japanese cars there.

I love that Alfa van too, I followed it home just after the start. I think there were more Japanese cars this year than last, but still not too many. Do you think if I stand in front of the Gullwing long enough talking on the phone it will become mine?

I was hoping to see the rear lock mechanism Rchen mentioned.

@Peter: I was trying to think of a smart-ass comment about you talking on the phone in front of the Mercedes. But I got nada.

@Alan: It's a lever next to the e-brake handle. It's breathtaking.

I think I detect sarcasm but not sure.

@Alan: LOL. It was actually quite cool/novel.

Good times. Happy New Year!

@Alan RHD example in video, but the door lock works like this. Like a taxi in Tokyo!

When I met my wife, she drove a maroon 1981 Accord. That was her first Honda. We have since then have had over 7 Hondas in over 23 years together.
What always impressed me about her first car was the level of refinement. This was in stark contrast to my craptastic 1988.5 Ford Escort
