Weak Arab League

There was a short story in The Economist about the Arab League. In essence, of the 22 members, only seven* bothered to send their heads of state to a bi-annual summit last month in Mauritania. They were:

  1. Mauritania (he was in town anyway)
  2. Yemen (not welcome in his own country, had free time)
  3. Sudan (wanted by ICC for genocide)
  4. Qatar
  5. Somalia
  6. Djibouti
  7. Comoros
  8. Kuwait
*The Economist mentioned seven but I found eight elsewhere. Nobody cares.
