Two red cars I'm watching on eBay

1. Red 2002 Mercedes C320 wagon.
Pros: Low miles (50,000); it's in RED; rear wheel drive.
Cons: It's in Oregon; priced a bit optimistically at $12,500; 2002 rather than more desirable 2003 model year; not a stick.

I'm holding off and waiting for it to be relisted with hopefully a more realistic starting price.

2. Red 2011 Saab 9-5.
Pros: Last of the Saabs; might get it for cheap (assuming reserve is reasonable).
Cons: Unknown reliability; no warranty.

I am actively bidding on this bad boy.

I don't think red is the best color for that baby benz. Silver with the blue tints and amg/sport wheels is the best color imo.

Good luck w/ the Saab. It's a good looking car. What's the interior like? Old GM still?

@F1O: Every C-class wagon is silver or bronze, so I'm naturally attracted to red. Maybe I'll get a silver one, put orange lights on the roof, and put F1 medical car livery on the sides and hood.

The Saab's interior is spartan. The seats look great, however.

Plastic bumper Mercs generally don't do it for me, especially the fish-eye generation. But, as you say, it is a wagon and it is red.

My preference here is the SAAB, purely on looks. The Merc is the sensible choice.

@Lukas: I'm not crazy about the looks of the Merc at all. But I've always wanted a wagon and it's just unusual enough to make me feel like a special snowflake.

I'm still trying to get used to the new Saab's rear end.

If you get the 9-5 I'll toast a good bottle of champagne in your honor-best of luck. I've seen a few on the road and they're super distinct looking, but still pretty. The interior is utterly fantastic, and they drive well too, I've read. Not sure about red, but it's such a brave choice I don't really care.

Seriously, good luck on the Saab.

@Alan: Too late. With 5 days to go, it's already approaching fair market value. (It's at 18k and it's worth 20k).

Plus, now, the dealer is spamming me.

For what it's worth, and probably least surprising coming from me, I think the Saab is the way to go!
