Re: ferries. The Finnish archipelago has a lot of ferry connections (afaik that's the only autonomous one, the rest: https://www.rengastie.fi/lautat/). People who actually live in the archipelago have right of way to the ferries, so tourists just have to wait in line until there's a ferry with space for them. Now due to COVID domestic tourism has become very popular, so the waiting times for the ferries can be several hours each. Depending on where you're going, there may be several ferry crossings on the way, so the waiting time can be looong. Going by motorcycle or bicycle is recommended, as you can squeeze more of those on a ferry than cars or RVs.
