The highlight was having rock journalist Ben Fong-Torres sit at the table next to us. He seemed like a real down-to-earth guy. A righteous dude, you might say.
Despite spending nearly half my life in Southern California, I hardly saw any celebrities. The most famous person I met as a child was Edie McClurg, the school secretary from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
