Carl Sagan's Porsche 914
Carl Sagan had at least two Porsches. This 914 had a license plate that said PHOBOS. The planet Mars has two small moons-- Phobos (fear) and Deimos (terror). When I was a kid, I named our family dog Deimos after the moon. I was a huge astronomy geek.

Never been a fan of the 914. However, I'm loving the late Squareback with the optional roof rack!
@Gavin: My step-cousin drove around the world in a Squareback in the mid-80s. When he pulled up to our driveway in Orange County, I noticed the front fender was gone. His girlfriend was driving it in Australia and forgot to drive on the correct side and had an incident.
Two very different looking cars - SAME ENGINE.
Hey Anonymous they do not have the same engines. The VW has a Type 3 and the 914 has a Type 4, not even close
