Aston Martin Lagonda ownership

I may get a chance to check out a Lagonda up close sometime next year. Until then, I found this beautiful piece that Hagerty put together. Enjoy and Merry Christmas.

December 2021 Marin C&C photos

I had not been to a car show in forever and the boy wanted to go to one. So I found a sort-of-local show (45 minutes away), woke up early, and went. It was worth it. We both had fun.

The first thing we checked out was this dune buggy getting reverse winched out of a travel trailer. The badge said Cox, which appears to be a toy company. Later we saw this buggy wearing huge sunglasses. You read that right.

E28 M5.

FC RX-7.

SWB Land Rover truck. This was my son's favorite car at the show.

Unrestored(?) Corvette.

Celica GT.

Saleen Mustang.

V8-powered Volvo.

1968 Mark II Cortina.

Why does this Aston Martin look so unusual? Is it a hardtop? I don't think I've ever seen one like this. This was my favorite car at the show.

Another rad Mustang.

Dirty 968.

I told my son I learned to drive in one of these. He was distracted by the van.

Another old Merc.

Monza coupe.

This classic was just non-chalantly parked.

Has anyone seen the new movie yet? Is it good?

July 8 blog

With all the craziness happening in this world, I am taking a break from Twitter. So I will blog about what I usually tweet.

First up, I came across this Aston Martin DBS Superlegerra convertible in my office parking garage. At over $307,820, this has to be the most expensive car ever parked in the garage. This is an ultra rare spot, right?!

Next, I happened upon a Norwegian island in the South Atlantic. Because of Bouvet Island's location, it is not subject to the international rules governing Antarctic territories.

Finally, the local library finally opened for curbside service and the boy got this book. Chevy Lumina police car!

New Bond film!

I'm excited, although I have zero recollection of the plots of the past Daniel Craig movies.

And here is an analysis of all the cars in the trailer.

1970s Thames TV car reviews

While waiting for midnight to strike on New Year's Eve, I happened upon a treasure trove of old British car reviews. I haven't heard the Thames jingle in ages. It brings back fond memories of when I watched Benny Hill as a kid.

Six more toy cars

I might have gone a little overboard.

Not content with the selections at local drug stores, I went to a Toys R Us yesterday. The choices were slightly better and I got this LM002 and Brazilian Volkswagen.

I was close to a different Toys R Us this morning so I went there as well. The selection was even better. I was going to get seven or eight cars, but I was able to whittle them down to four.

This "F1 Racer" was borderline fictional, but I got it because 1) it's sort of a Formula One car and 2) the wheels glow in the dark.

Orinda Car Show 2015

The summer is over and the local car show calendar is winding down. Here are the cars that piqued my interest.

1957 Aston Martin DB2/4 Fixed Head Coupe (1 of 11):

Panoz Esperante engine bay:

Here's that odd Corvette I saw recently on the freeway. It's a rebodied C6:

I don't think I've ever seen a Lotus Evora on the road. Here are two:

2015 retrospective

I can't believe summer is over and 2016 is almost here. Automotively speaking, I've got Suzuka in a few weeks and hopefully a South American bus trip in November. Here is a look back at another fantastic year.

January: Co-piloted in Rchen's 1988 Porsche 911 in the Anti-Football Run.

February: Paris. Retromobile, Citroen factory museum, French flagship car dealerships along the Champ-Elysees. Plus, I spotted this Aston Martin Cygnet on the street.

March: Saw a Mustang II at the local Cars & Coffee (slow month).

April: Formula E in Long Beach, with bonus breakfast with Ed K.

May: Almost bought a Jaguar X-Type wagon. Almost.

June: Bought a Saab!

July: 10th wedding anniversary in Napa.

August: Walked inside a Concorde.
