This immaculate specimen will be the subject of a write-up on Hooniverse. The owner really took care of this 23 year old car.

Paper airplane record
Approximately 227 feet (69 meters). The plane was thrown by former Cal QB Joe Ayoob. His day job? Selling Anchor Steam beer.

Rick Santorum on higher education
Santorum, by the way, has a bachelor's degree, a law degree, and an MBA. His wife has a bachelor's degree and a law degree. Something tells me his children are in college or are going to college.

News documentary on Homs
This piece has incredible footage of the recent fighting (and lulls) in Homs. The filmmaker took some incredible risks.

Uggie the Dog should win an Oscar
Saw The Artist last night. The film was entertaining and innovative, but probably not worthy of an Oscar. The dog in it, Uggie, should definitely win Best Supporting Actor/Actress.

Rubens Barrichello Indycar test drive at Infineon (photos)
Had a great time. Got to about within five feet of Rubens. He was short (as expected) but wide (unexpected). He was very friendly, grateful, and funny at the press conference. Look for a full write-up on Hooniverse.
Now, I gotta figure out how to string my video clips together on iMovie and upload it onto YouTube...

The cars of Infineon's parking lot
A glorious day was had in Sonoma today. Everyone had their babies out. On the way to the track, I saw TWO 500Es (one with a weird integrated whale-tail like spoiler), a Rolls-Royce Ghost, and a ruby red Suzuki Swift GTi. As you can see, there was something in the lot for everybody.
P.S. There will be a full write-up on Hooniverse.

Koran burning in Afghanistan
The burning of Korans (mixed with confiscated pornographic materials) at an American base has caused not only riots all over Afghanistan, but fratricide as well. Today, two more Americans, a colonel and a major, were shot and killed by an Afghan solider inside the Interior Ministry building.

Fiat 500 Gucci edition
This is wrong on so many levels. Just imagine who Fiat-Chrysler would use as a spokesperson when they start selling the Alfa Romeo Louis Vuitton to Americans.

Come on, Republicans!
Unemployment is still high. 50% of all Americans think Obama's term so far has been a failure. Almost anyone should be able to beat the President. And so who is going to be running against Obama? An out-of-touch, socially awkward, multi-millionaire. And his campaign is run by a bunch of incompetents. What a wasted opportunity.
Romney, today. 1,200 Republicans in suits at Ford Field, which has 65,000 seats.
Obama, February 2008.

Seeing Rubens Barrichello at Infineon tomorrow (Feb. 25)
This is about as close as it gets for California to get Formula One. Rubens, who was forced into retirement at Williams, is test driving an Indycar tomorrow. This will be my first time visiting Infineon and I don't know anything about Indycars. So if you can share any of your wisdom, I'd appreciate it. Specifically,:
- Where are the best places to watch?
- What is access to the paddock area like?
- What color is Rubens helmet?
- Is there anything about the 2012 car I should be looking for?
I'll be posting pictures of my visit here and doing a full write-up or two on Hooniverse.
More info here.

High density cattle feedlot
Had a recent conversation about American feedlots. There's one nearby that has thousands of closely packed, miserable cattle. Here's a shaky video of it, taken from nearby Interstate 5:
