Four years too late, I am now finally reading Obama's autobiography Dreams from My Father. During the 2008 election, every self-respecting Democrat read this book.
I'm about 50 pages in and I am beyond impressed. It is brutally honest and candid. The struggles of being raised in a broken home, the questions about one's biracial identity, and so much more are explored and analyzed. There are no easy solutions and when a solution exists, it's not always neat and pretty.
It is truly incredible and heartwarming to know that this man, with such a unique and universal background, is the President of the United States, right now, today.
Here is Obama in 1995 being interviewed for the book.
