Civil rights in America

Coincidentally, just as 51% of Americans are now okay with gay marriage, President Obama said today that he is finally okay with gay marriage too.

The Henry Ford Museum is not just a car museum.  There is a civil rights section with many artifacts.  Here are a few:

This map is also interesting.  The 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote in 1920.  The map shows when each state ratified the amendment.  It's hard to see, but the purple signifies 1969 to 1984.  That's right, Mississippi ratified it in 1984!

that still leaves 49% who are not okay. i know there's a bit of following and not leading going on here, but still, credit given where credit is due.

@mtc: You are right. In the end, it was historic. It just came out under less than ideal circumstances. Damn Joe Biden and his mouth.

51% are not ok with homo marriage, marriage is before god not government, now if you are saying 51% are ok with behind closed doors 2 men or 2 women living as a couple then yes but not calling it marriage
