Engine block coffee table complete!

I picked up the glass I had specially cut today.  I ended up propping the glass by chopping up a wooden dowel, wrapping the bottom of the pieces with electrical tape so they fit snugly into the spark plug holes, and spray painting the pieces with metallic paint.  Everything is very stable.

Here is the metamorphosis:
2. You, the visitors to this blog, voted for the red valve covers.
3. Lenny tirelessly cleaned the engine.
4. The engine arrived.
5. I spent a fruitless weekend trying to find a cheap glass top.
6. I'm done.  (See above.)

I think there is a number missing:

8) Went to get my rug from the other Lebowski.

Looks great! Where does that carpet coming from?

@Anon: Can you believe I've never sat down and watched the movie from beginning to end? Maybe I'll rent it this weekend.

@Tarlan: The rug is a hand-me-down. I don't know its origin.

Very nice. Red valve covers are definately better, would've been a bit boring with black ones.

Wow, the engine turned out beautifully. (How heavy is it?).

I showed my wife... She said we should do it for our office/F1 Temple up on our 3rd floor. I told her I'm in if she carries up the stairs.

@Edvin: Yeah, and I never realized the red would match the pillows and the rug.

@Alan: You guys are a bunch of knuckleheads.

@MattC: The block is about 125# and the glass is like 15#. It is light enough that two average people can move it but heavy enough so that it's stable.

@F1O: Tell her to lift with her legs, not her back! BTW, will Alonso win it all?

@Tarlan: Are you somewhere in the former USSR/CCCP? Do you own any old Russian cars? If so, we'd love to see some photos.
