Dave Clark Designs in the UK has this Jaguar V12 coffee table for sale. I'm not sure if he also created the coffee table that's on the Top Gear set. But at 899 pounds (plus shipping), it is WAY, WAY, WAY over my budget, even with the favorable exchange rate.
For 255 to 799 pounds, you can get a coffee table made out of an F1 tire. It's an 18" Goodyear slick. Can any of you F1 historians tell me what years F1 used these tires? Thanks.
And by the way, yes, I am still coffee table-less.

I love the added warmth the wood gives his tables.
Someday I'd love to build a side table out of an early 70s Honda 4 cylinder bike block - the quality of engineering and craftsmanship in those old bikes are incredible.
P.S.
I'll sell you a greasy 4AGE block with slight rod exit damage and a rough-cut plank of plywood for $100, plus shipping.
@Alan. You're too kind. I'll pass on your offer. :)
We used to put glass tops on our old slicks to make coffee tables many years ago but they didn't look as elegant as that one.
P.S. saw you on BaT earlier today - A8 W12 and an XM, that man's a connoisseur.
@Alan: Yeah, he's my new hero. I sent him an email asking for an interview/possible visit/tour. *Fingers crossed*
that would be awesome!
P.S.
have you decided on a daily?
@Alan. Daily driver? No. Won't be for years. I am waiting for the Alfa Giulia.
