Eating the Globe: Haiti

I've been trying to track down this food truck for nearly a year now. And yesterday, we finally tried their food!

It was parked in front of a brewery in a gentrifying part of Oakland. I was surprised by how relatively cheap the food was. The total for two entrees was just $18. I had anticipated $25-30.

I'm not a fan of plantains (or any fruit in an entree) and the red beans and rice were sort of bland. But the fried pork and fried chicken were excellent.

The fried pork reminded me of the Dominican pork I had. After all, they share an island together.
