I don't know what kind of crazy pressure the U.S. is putting on Ecuador, but it seems to be working. I'm going to guess he's going to end up in Nicaragua.

I don't think Snowden has done anything nearly as terrible as to be a pariah forever. I was thinking Obama could have pardoned him in some way, but sadly Snowden keeps releasing information, making that even more impossible.
@Ripituc: I think Obama is telling countries we are not friendly with (Venezuela, Nicaragua, etc.) to delay any decision for 30-45 days. They don't have to say yes or no on the application, just wait. This will put pressure on Snowden because living at the airport cannot be fun.
@Maxichamp I don't think any pressure would be strong enough to make Snowden give himself up to the US. Prison for life? Death for treason? What are his chances if he faces US justice?
I wonder if he should have stayed in the US and stand proud for his actions. Supporters, and I hazard to guess it's a majority of the US population, could support him better. But, he might have been thinking of how that associate of the Boston marathon bomber was summarily executed by FBI agents in his apartment and figured this place is too far gone. Now he's sentenced himself to eating Sbarro at Moscow International for the foreseeable future.
