We've already seen the BMW E24 cabrio and an M8 prototype, here is an E34 M5 convertible. Apparently, it was close to being a production model but was pulled at the last minute because bean counters feared that a beautiful E34 cabrio might cannibalize the 3 series cabrio's market share.

Wow! I never knew this car existed. How did you find out about it? Where is it today?
I ran across it on some random car blog. Once I googled it, I realized it had been covered quite a bit by others. Apparently, it has been stored by BMW and was recently uncovered for a select few journalists to photograph. It is beautiful and the proportions seem perfect.
