Kobayashi Will Beat Chestnut In Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest

Two years ago, I predicted that Joey Chestnut would beat the unbeatable Takeru Kobayashi at the Nathan's 4th of July Coney Island hot dog eating contest. Currently, Chestnut is the odds on favorite at 20:31 whereas Kobayashi's odds are 21:20.

I am predicting that Kobayashi will win this year for two reasons. First, I think he wants it more than Chestnut. Second, he has been showing his dominance by beating Chestnut:

• in late July 2008 in a chicken satay contest (5.4 kilos versus 4.1 kilos in 12 minutes) and
  
• in May of this year in the Pizza Hut P'zone (calzone) contest (5 3/4 one pound P'zones to Chestnut's 5 1/2 in six minutes).

The contest will be on ESPN this Saturday at noon Eastern Time.
