What on earth possessed them to put an interesting rotary engine into an ill-handling, rubbery-steering old dinosaur like that Holden Premier? A perverse sense of humour, perhaps!

A really fascinating car. I guess this is the reverse of the more common FC RX-7 equipped with an SBC.

Fascinating is the word. I've loved this thing since I first knew of its existence. It just has tons of that "this should have never been created!" ingredient I'm attracted to. And badge-engineering. And is beautiful as well...

I mean, it just looks so out of place in Japan. I think one of the attractive of big imported cars in Japan is precisely the foreign badge, that tells anyone "I'm rich!". So a Mazda wouldn't fill the bill.

By the way, Isuzu also sold a big Holden in Japan as the "Isuzu Statesman de Ville".

The Mazda Roadpacer was based on Holden car (saloon) australia.
