Pasties
We're going to spend a weekend soon in the Grass Valley area. It's a 2.5 hour drive away and has a long history of mining. Many Cornish miners moved to the area because of their experience. As a result, there are a few pasties shops there.

Lots of pasties in Northern Michigan as well, glad to hear they are nearby, maybe I can get my fix in Grass Valley. There are a couple shops in the Upper Peninsula that have specialized in online ordering and delivering to da Yooper diaspora.
@Peter: There are three in Grass Valley (check Yelp). What's the traditional filling? Beef? My wife will be at a class so I think I'm going to get one from each store and compare them.
