Big V8 sedan to drive cross-country in
A regular reader of this blog plans to one day fly to America, buy a big honkin' V8 sedan, and drive cross-country. Might I suggest an early '90s Buick Roadmaster? Just make sure the A/C works. Here is an example for sale.

China Jasmine Revolution starts at 2pm local time on Sunday
Update: It was a dud. And only one person didn't believe the hype before the 2pm start time. It was Melissa K. Chan, the Al Jazeera correspondent in China. She just posted a piece on why it was a failure and why a Twitter-based revolution is not likely to happen there.

Demonstrations are supposed to take place at the main squares of 13 Chinese cities. The government is clamping down on all information about the protests. I can't tell if it's just hype from Falun Gong exiles or if it's a legitimate grassroots movement.
The invitation states, in part:
"Whether you are the parents of kidney stone babies, relocated households, retired soldiers, private teachers, buy-out offer employees, laid-off workers, petitioners... we are all Chinese. You and I still have a dream about China's future. We should be responsible for the future of our own and children"
The cities are: Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Nanjing, Xian, Chengdu, Changsha, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Changchun, Harbin, and Wuhan.
Stay tuned.

Mohamed Bouazizi, accidental revolutionary
The Tunisian man who set himself on fire over a fruit cart row started everything that is going on in the Middle East, North Africa, and even Djibouti. Rumor has it that there will be protests in 13 large Chinese cities on Sunday.

Boycott Bahrain Formula One Grand Prix
It's not just about the danger to the F1 fans and personnel who will be going to Bahrain. It's about taking a stand, in a very small but significant way, for democracy. We cannot accept this tyranny. I'm looking forward to the season opener more than anyone else, but I will not watch the race.
Bahrain security forces (made up in part of Pakistani, Jordanian, and Sudanese recruits) firing on peaceful Shia majority (70% of the country's population) protestors.

Libya protest video
Videos out of Libya are hard to come by. Here is footage from the town of Tubruq. The men tore down a Green Book monument. Gadaffi wrote the Green Book, which is sort of like Mao's Red Book.

Kiribati underwater due to climbing sea level
The video gives you some visuals of Kiribati and how the young are leaving their homeland. The audio link shows how some in this very religious country believe the country will be okay because God assured Man after the Great Flood (see Noah and his ark) that He will not flood the planet again.
Here is the audio. (Click on Listen to the Story.)
