Eating the Globe: Ecuador
This quest is becoming difficult. Recently, I went to San Francisco International Airport to interview for my Global Entry card (more on that later). On the way back, I decided to go to an out-of-the-way neighborhood to try Honduran food. I walked about half a mile from the subway station to find the restaurant closed. Lead, asbestos, and microbes, oh my!
Yesterday, I was in Palo Alto for a holiday cocktail party and decided to stop for dinner at my friend's Ecuadorean restaurant. It has been raining for a week here and traffic was atrocious. The short trip took over an hour. I tried the llapingachos. It's a potato cake with cheese inside. It reminded me a bit of Venezuelan arepas.
Countries tried so far:
Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria, Somalia, South Africa
Asia: Afghanistan, Armenia, Burma, Cambodia, China, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam, Yemen
Europe: Bosnia, Bulgaria, Czechia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden
North America: Canada, El Salvador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago, USA
South America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela
