The burning of Korans (mixed with confiscated pornographic materials) at an American base has caused not only riots all over Afghanistan, but fratricide as well. Today, two more Americans, a colonel and a major, were shot and killed by an Afghan solider inside the Interior Ministry building.
This video recap was from yesterday:
Such radical lack of rationality (killing people because the burning of a book or a flag) should be reason enough for the USA to think again before occupying other countries.
ReplyDeleteI the US feels like it must get involved into the domestic affairs of soveraign states, it should be as quietly as possible, in a civilized manner and hopefully through the backing of business oportunities that benefit both Americans and the local communities.
@Viva: Right after 9/11, 98% of Americans wanted our military to bomb/invade/destroy Afghanistan. Now, everyone is saying, What are we doing there?
ReplyDeleteTrust me, we won't be occupying anyone for about 20-30 years. Then, we'll forget about this and do it all over again (like how we forgot about Vietnam).
i am outraged and disgusted at gingrich's complete and utter disregard for the safety of the nation's servicemen and servicewomen abroad. revolting.

@mtc: I don't condone violence, but if anyone deserves an atomic wedgie, it's Newt. And don't get me started on his Stepford fembot wife.
