BMW Individual is a program for customers to customize their cars. It all started in the early 1990s when designer Karl Lagerfeld was given an E38 L7 as a blank canvas. This is the result.
Small correction. The first Individual car was indeed a 7 series, but it was a E32 750 in the year 1992. The E38 L7 was introduced in 1997, and the one in the pictures is a facelift model, which means it's a 1999-2001.
Individuals are not that uncommon in Europe, I used to have a 2000 model 330Ci Individual a few years ago. It was painted in a special colour and had a matching leather interior plus a few other bits.
Thanks, but it's not that bad working outside. Lately it's been a lot warmer and if you put enough clothes on it's ok. Anyway, no working outside anymore, since I got the engine out of the car and inside the garage. :)

ReplyDeleteShameless plug: check out my E32 at e32project.wordpress.com :)
Edvin,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the correction. This was the first I had heard of the Individual.
Your project looks hellish. You must be a masochist. I guess this will keep you busy during the looong Finnish winter. Good luck.

Very swank, I can imagine The Continental would roll in this. The buttons on the seating surfaces are just the right amount of Brougham
