These numbers are from a PPP poll released today:

Legality of interracial marriage:
MS: 29% think it should be illegal.
AL: 21% think it should be illegal.

Believe in evolution?:
MS: 66% do not believe in it.
AL: 60% do not believe in it.

Is Obama a Muslim?
MS: 52% say he's a Muslim, 36% are not sure, 12% think he's a Christian.
AL: 45% say he's a Muslim, 41% are not sure, 14% think he's a Christian.

*In 1962, James Meredith became the first black student at the University of Mississippi.  To protect Meredith, JFK sent in 500 U.S. Marshals, the 70th Army Engineer Combat Battalion, military police from the 503rd Military Police Battalion, the Mississippi Army National Guard, and the U.S. Border Patrol.
