I'm going to Fort Dodge, Iowa!

Maybe.

I'm thinking of going to Iowa again to knock on doors for Bernie before the February 3 caucus. The campaign is much more organized and streamlined this time around. You just go online and they tell you where volunteers are needed the most. This year, they need people in Waterloo (I was there in 2016), Sioux City (a swing district near Omaha), and Fort Dodge (a solidly blue district until Trump).

To give you some perspective, Fort Dodge (population 25,000) is in Webster County (38,000). From 1984 to 2012, the county consistently voted for Democratic presidential candidates. In 2012, 52.1% voted for Obama. In 2016, 57.7% voted for Trump.

Here is the biggest attraction in Fort Dodge, a mural on an abandoned silo!
