In my Rides of Heads of State series, the most popular vehicles for world leaders were the S-Class (61 countries) and the Land Cruiser (23). But when I drive around, I seem to notice far more Land Cruisers in town than S-Classes. So I did some digging on Good Car Bad Car and found the following stats. I looked at US sales from 2002 (earliest year with available figures) to 2007 (last year of the Land Cruiser 100 series).
I think we can chalk up the current sighting disparity to the comparative build quality of each vehicle.
