They get a lot of the tones wrong, which is not a surprise because tones in Mandarin are not only complicated but also dynamic. The latter aspect can only be learned through immersion.
Also, surely CCTV can find someone capable of translating into grammatically correct English? The accent (of the narrator) I can understand, but the poor grammar is just embarrassing.
