This news has made me sick all day.
A friend of a friend is a 4th grade teacher in Berkeley. On January 2, she and her partner were in neighboring Richmond at 6 p.m. (a so-so area) to pick up their son. An asshole was trying to shoot another asshole and the friend got caught in the crossfire. She was shot in the jaw and neck, crossed into opposing traffic, and hit another car head-on. She subsequently suffered a stroke and she is still in the hospital.
Gun violence, an American institution.
