I've watched two episodes so far on Netflix. It's not going to win any awards, but it is very entertaining. The actor who plays Escobar is Brazilian. Spanish-speakers: Does he have a Portuguese accent?
In the little he speaks on that trailer, he does sound a weird to me. Maybe not Brazilian per se, but more like he is holding back its accent so as to not sound Brazilian. You can hear he doesn't sound like the other Colombian guys. I'll watch the series. My family and I enjoyed watching the Colombian series on Pablo Escobar shown a couple years ago in Chile.
I loved the show. Did you catch (or look out for) a 2004+ F150 in police liverly. I think it was episode 3 or 4.

ReplyDeleteMy Colombian friends who've been watching it love the show but can't get over the Brazilian accent.
ReplyDelete@F1O: Can you explain why so many Brazilian men have European last names as first names? Like Wagner, Roosevelt, etc.?
ReplyDeleteI have no clue.
ReplyDeleteI guess they wanted to have the names of famous people. There are also classic Greek names, like Socrates.
