Willie Horton George Bush ad

Some thoughts on George H.W. Bush.  And just for the record, I think he is a smart, capable, and moderate guy.  He would not get through the Republican primary today.

1. This racially-tinged ad sealed the deal for him in 1988.

2. I saw him during his presidency.  My civics teacher took our class to a speech he was making in Orange County.  We stood at the far corner of the convention hall.  The local news made it look like we were all enthusiastic supporters.  I remember seeing a protestor outside with a sign equating Bush with England's King George.

3. He fathered the man who did irreparable harm to this country/planet.

4. He worked in China.
