Today, more than 200 civilians were slaughtered in one village in Syria. The increasing ethnic/sectarian element is disturbing. With military defections (more than a trickle but less than a flood) and the recent resignation of Syria's top diplomat in Iraq, it's just a matter of time before the regime collapses. Assad will be lucky if his fate is living a comfortable life sentence in The Hague. But I predict his fate will be closer to Qaddafi's. At some point, not even Russia or China can protect him.
