Oh wow - this same car was for sale in my neighborhood (Long Beach, CA) a couple years ago. I seriously thought about buying it.
Interesting story at that time. The owner had bought it for his 16 year old son and thought he'd be really into it, and that it would be something they could work on together. But the son had ZERO interest in it. Hence the dad put it up for sale.
Crazy kid...I'd have been stoked if my dad had bought that for me!
Asymetrical wheelbases FTW!
ReplyDeleteDo it!
Towing with a Phaeton - how undignifed.
ReplyDeleteSurely you could just put the R5 in the trunk? Then drive it from where you park the Phaeton to (and into) the mall.....
@Lukas: Too funny!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever seen a tow hitch on a 6.9?

Incidentally, the car was in AMAZING condition. The pics look great, but the thing really did look like it had rolled off the showroom floor in 1975.
ReplyDelete@Ed Kim: To quote Val Kilmer in some movie where he pretended to be a German: "Youth."
