Burmese cabbie


  • Automotively, it's like a 1980s Japanese time warp.
  • $13 a day is enough to put three kids through college.
  • Burma and Laos are battling it out as the last undiscovered land for Western tourists.

    So many Toyota, where are the locally-built old little Mazda taxis?

    I'm happy for the locals that benefit from rising tourism, but still feel that is wrong that regimes like those on Burma and Laos are attracting tourists to start with.
