We had a 300SEL6.3 rear end in our red Bolwell plus a number of different ratios. It's a bit strange (to me anyway) being independent on one side only, but it worked really well. A little bit complicated for me especially when you're trying to get all those needle rollers squeezed in when doing a rebuild.
@John L: It seems like 6.3 parts were used quite often in other cars. How many 6.3s were produced? There couldn't have been that many. What kind of rear ends did Bolwells normally come with?

ReplyDeleteThe Nagaris started life with 8" Ford live axles. A few have changed to Jag IRS and there are some who have updated to 9" with discs.
