Can any of our Antipodean friends shed light on this phenomenon? Is Fisher a top driver? Was it controversial Down Under when this came out? I never thought of Australia as a particularly religious country.
Rest assured, we're one of the most happily Godless places on Earth. Our religions remain sun, surf, beer, sport, loud cars, rock music and disrespect of authority generally. It's what makes us such a peaceful society.
To answer your other question, Andrew came 7th in a field of 32 utes at Mt. Panorama about 45 minutes ago. I guess Jesus was doing his job as he managed to keep out of the prangs and off the walls.
@John L: No. We don't get ute racing. And the V8 Supercars races are shown 6 months after the fact.
The racing channel here in the States sucks. It's 90% NASCAR, 4% car auctions, 4% dumb reality shows, and 2% decent stuff (V8 Supercars, F1, DTM, 24 Hours Daytona, etc.).

ReplyDeleteIf atheism was a religion it would be the biggest religion in Australia but there are of course supporters of all beliefs.

ReplyDelete@John L: Thanks. Am staying up late waiting for Suzuka quali. Looks like it's gonna rain forever.
ReplyDeleteDo you get Bathurst over there tomorrow?

Well, they've just finished the top 10 shootout and Mark Winterbottom's got pole in the Falcon.
