I remember seeing something about the Concorde on History or Discovery or one of them channels... They said that in the late 70's and early 80's the price of a trip on the Concorde wasn't really that much more expensive than regular first class but with the public at large it was perceived to be much more expensive, so they raised the price accordingly.
I always wished I'd get to travel in one. Guess that chance is gone for good now. I don't think we'll be seeing supersonic air travel anymore within our lifetimes.
There's been some talk about British Airways bringing the Concorde back into service, let's hope it's more than just rumours. It is indeed a cool machine.
The Soviet union has made some awesome machines, like the Ekranoplan's and the huge Antonov aircraft.
