I had dinner this weekend with an old friend. He has a modest but diverse collection of automobiles, including an Austin MG Maestro Turbo. I have never heard of the Maestro Turbo. Apparently, between 1989 to 1991, 505 of these were made (500 production, 5 press cars). It was based on a 5 door hatchback called the Maestro. With a turbocharger to speed it up and a Tickford bodykit to slow it down, it did 0 to 60 in the mid 6 second range. It was advertised as being faster than a Ferrari, as the Mondial had a 7 second 0 to 60 time.
