New York Times Reader Demographics

There is no question that the typical New York Times reader is better educated and more well off than the average American. But a few articles I found this week are just over the top. There was this article about the guilt felt by benevolent yuppies when they have to lay off their nannies and housekeepers during the current financial crisis. Boo hoo. Or how about this one, about keeping energy costs down on your SECOND home. Cry me a friggin' river.

While millions are losing their jobs and their life savings, the Times devotes ink and server space to these out-of-touch stories? I'm not saying that it should expand its Nascar coverage or exclaim the virtues of spicy pork rinds, but come on.

WSJ or NYT readers?
