Damn, I remember these now!!!!! Had forgotten all about them, I had one. Still looking for another Testors Remote Control Porsche that I had in the '70s. Many Testors on ebay but not the porsche.
@kashgar216: Naw. Do an ebay search for "Testors Cox". They were .049 glow plug gas powered cars, usually run on tether. a 57 chev, a van, buggy, even indy cars. But one specific model (I'm fairly certain mine was a can am porsche) came with a rudimentary R/C as well. LR steering and one direction when hitting reverse. Not the most grippy tires but oh the power slides I could make it do. Spent an hour searching this morning and couldn't find anything on the net.
I have a Testors. It's a VEGA 73. It's a orange/gold color. I never ran it, got it at a thrift store so no box Like to sell it but what's it worth today

@Steve: Is the Testors Remote the same as Amaze-A-Matics? I saw several different models for sale yesterday.
ReplyDeleteSo how was Richard Kiel?
ReplyDelete@MattC: He was a really cool guy. More on that later.
