Kyrgyzstan rioting video footage (with twitter update info)

When a corrupt and poor country wedged between China, Russia, and Afghanistan tries to auction itself to the highest bidder (Russia, U.S., and probably China), nothing good can come of it.  More analysis to follow in the following days.  In the meantime, this article gives a good primer on how Kyrgyzstan got there.  The unrest started in Talas and has spread to Bishkek, the capital.  17 people have died and a state of emergency has been declared.

Update 1: So much for the Tulip Revolution, eh?

For different perspectives, try Russia Today, CCTV, and Al Jazeera.

And for the record, soon-to-be-deposed President Bakiyev's official ride was a Mercedes S-class.
